I grew up in Quetzaltenango. This is a place I will always love and hold memories of. I want to go back and be with my family and relive some of my childhood moments. I love my culture, and I love my city. There's a lot of tradition and kidness. -DT

Rio de Janeiro has been on my mind forever. I was named after a Brazilian soccer player, and I have always cheered for Brazil at the World Cup. I am a soccer enthusiast, and in this city, they know soccer better than everyone else. The views too are amazing, and I love the beach. -DT

I have always wanted to visit the city of Tokio, in the beautiful country of Japan. I am really interested in the culture and the mixture of modernity and tradition. Also, I want to go and eat some delicious food and admire the fashion. -DT

Orlando, Florida

Growing up I have always loved going to theme parks. In fact, when I was in high school going to theme parks was a big part of how I spent my free time. This past summer my family and I visited Florida. The big thing I wanted to do was experience the theme parks here by myself and as an adult which is exactly what I did. My favorite theme park there was Universal Studios Orlando. I really enjoyed how much bigger Universal was in Orlando compared to the one in Hollywood. I also feel like they did a better job at immersing you in your surroundigns which I think is important for any theme park. I plan to go back sometime soon to enjoy with friends. - S. Truong

This is where I grew up, so it holds a very special place in my heart that I cannot begin to explain. I've had so many good memories here and all the people I care about are here. I've always wanted to visit Japan for the longest time, and I actually was really close to going, but then COVID hit. The, Griffith Observatory perched atop Mount Hollywood in Los Angeles, California, is a beloved icon offering breathtaking views of the city skyline and space. South Bay in Boston was the place I visit a lot on Weekends during High School. My friends and I loved to hang out here. -YL

This is the place that I was borned. Hutong refers to the narrow old streets in Beijing. There is only a few of them left in the city. -YL

I really enjoy Penang because of it's culture and people. Being from Penang it always draws me there because of the nostalgia and people that are there. People that include family and friends.-JS

Safari in Kenya

I visited Kenya around 10 years ago for a wedding. My family on my maternal grandparents side are from Kenya and so it was a nice way to visit where they grew up and what they called home. For the wedding preparations, we went on a saferi in Nairobi. There were so many things we needed to know beforehand but it was an amazing experience

Borough Market

Borough Market is a great way to try different foods throughout London. This market combines so many different types of cuisines in a centralized area. I was definentely overwhelemd when it came to the different options, but this guide was a great tool to helping me pick which foods I wanted to try

Burj Khalifa

The Burj Khalifa was probably one of the wonders of the world in my mind. Not only is it beautful, but I also found out that it's the tallest skyscraper existing today. My parents and I took the elevator to the top and it was insanely high! Definentely a great view!

Redondo Beach

Redondo Beach is the one place I can feel at peace. It's not easy for my mind to be silent, but when I bask in the sun's rays and watch it dance along the surface of the ocean, the anxiety washes away and all I can hear is the crash of the waves. -Saidah J

Georgia Aquarium

One of the only aquariums to provide a sanctuary for whale sharks is the Georgia Aquarium. I want to visit this place so I can see the gentle, yet magnificent creatures. At first, I thought they were exploiting the whale sharks, but they had rescued the whale sharks from being illegally sold and killed. -Saidah J

Hawaii

Even though I already live relatively close to a beach, our oceans are significantly more polluted than Hawaii's and it shows with how much clearer its waters are. I've also heard that because of this, Hawaii's ocean water is a lot less cold compared to how the ocean water feels in California. I also got interested to visit Hawaii because I heard that some of its beaches have black sand and I thought that was pretty cool and overall seems like a nice place to have a vacation in. -Nyah L

The boat rides in Venice, Italy are great for sightseeing when you are visiting and looking for a nice view. It would be nice to do during golden hour/sunset hour to be able to get the perfect view while relaxing on a nice boat ride. J.H

Costa Rica

The waterfalls in Costa Rica are perfect for a nice view plus a nice spot to spot during a hike to cool off. The waterfalls are the perfect place to swim if you are looking for something less common like the beaches or pools. J.H

The Colosseum, Rome, Italy

I'm a fan of Roman history, so it'd be cool to travel to The Colosseum. In ancient history, the emperor Titus used to hold gladiator matches here. The Colosseum is one of the Seven Wonders in the world. -AW

Effifel Tower, France

The Effifel tower is a monument currently on my bucket list for places to visit. It's often seen in movies and is one of the most recognizable landmarks in the world. The tower is over 1,000 feet tall which amounts to an 81 story building. -AW

Yosemite National Park, California, US

The Yosemite National Park is located in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. It hosts a variety of the famous ancient giant sequoias trees, as well as various waterfalls, high cliffs, deep valleys, and more exciting mountaneous scenery. -AW

Redondo Beach, CA

I love the beach and sea in general, I find its sounds of waves crashing calming. I especially love Redondo Beach because of the pier, there's lotos of souvenir shops, fastfood places and people fishing. -MVR

San Marco Square, Venice, Italy

San Marco's Square is filled with gothic aritheture that has been on my bucket list for many years. Doge's Palace, St.Mark's Basilica, the clock tower and the bell tower. Ive always wanted to experience thier carnival first had, I think thier parade masks are beautiful. -MVR

Palace of Versailles,France

The Palace of Versailles has also been on my bucket list for many years, in its history it has ocupied and stunned many foreign powers. I would love to see its marvelous garden and grandiose rooms. -MVR

Laguna Beach

Every summer my favorite place to relax, have fun, or walk around would have to be Laguna Beach. On a perfect sunny day, Laguna Beach is the only place to be, with its secluded sections (if you can find them) and crashing waves. It's also close by to one of the best acaí bowl places, which I get everytime I go. -CL

Glamis Sand Dunes

One place that I love to visit are the Imperial Sand Dunes, or what I know it to be, Glamis. It's just pure sand out there and practically a large campsite for people to visit/have fun. It's the best place to ride atv's and quad bikes, especially at night because that's when everyone is out riding. -CL

Harajuku, Japan

A place that I've always wanted to travel to would have to be Harajuku, Japn. The variety of food to eat and culture that is spread, seems like an amazing oppurtunity. I would love to just go and eat all the food I can, while shopping through all the stores, since Japan is known for their good fashion sense. -CL

Swiss Alps, Switzerland

Galle, Sri Lanka

Galle is a city in Sri Lanka, which is an island and independent country in South Asia. It is known for its beautiful beaches and safe seas and is a favourite amongst tourists. It is the main city in the district of Galle, and is a UNESCO World Heritage site, prominent for its old trading port (known as Galle Fort) from colonial times, with Dutch-styled buildings, ancient mosques and churches, museums, and grand mansions. Growing up, coming to Galle would be my favourite way to spend the summer, from swimming in the seas to walking around the city and exploring all the old buildings. -Insiya L

Tokyo, Japan

Japan is a country that is rich in culture and history, and its main city is Tokyo. It has been a dream to one day visit Tokyo, to see the cherry blossoms bloom during its spring season, visit what has been dubbed the ‘world’s busiest intersection’ at Shibuya Crossing, and visit the Yayoi Kusama Museum, which is a five-story art museum devoted solely to the works of artist Yayoi Kusama. This museum is a dream of mine to visit, as I love art and art museums, and her art is some of my favourite. -Insiya L

Monza, Italy

Monza is a dream destination to visit because of the Grand Prix motor racing circuit that is there, the Autodromo Nationale di Monza, and is one of the most famous F1 circuits. It hosts the Formula One Italian Grand Prix. Out of all the circuits, this is the one I have always wanted to visit, due to its history in Formula One and the location itself. -Insiya L

When I was in my early childhood, my parents bought me cool toy such as dolls, cellphones, and clothes. My family and I would always buy street vendors by eating fruits, hotdogs, tacos, and aqua de horchata. This place also has quincenera and prom dresses in various stores and selling jewelry for occasions

Paris, France

One time, I started hearing this place by watching Ratatouille from Disney and it recalls my memory of wanting to go to Paris, France. I have intermediate French skills to develop more in speaking and comprehension once I finish UCR from my double-major in Psychology and Lang & Lit/French. One day, I'd prefer to take a solo trip to experience the culture and gain knowledge by speaking French and eat foods that I've never eaten before

Mexico City, Mexico

My extended-family lives in Mexico and I've learned about the crucial things on how this place looks like in-person versus in pictures. This country represents the Hispanic culture and the excitement of supporting my own heritage. I've never been to Mexico, but one day, I hope I'll save up money to meet my family and get to know more about the country

Great Barrier Reef

The Great Barrier Reef located about 100 miles off the coast of Australia is in my opinion, one of the most beautiful places on the planet. While I have yet to visit it, The Great Barrier Reef is definitely on my travel wishlist, due to its miles of colorful, clustered, coral reefs and massive population of marine life, The Great Barrier Reef is easily solidified in my top three favorite places. -EP

Hawaii

The west-most U.S. state, Hawaii is my second favorite place. Hawaii consists of hundreds of islands all located in the pacific ocean, however there are only a couple large enough to be inhabited. Even though this is the case, the few islands are some of the most beautiful and amazing places on the planet. There are tons of gorgeous spots to visit from the stunning beaches to the breathtaking jungles, Hawaii is home to vast wildlife, great shaved ice, and incredible culture. With all of these in mind, it’s hard for Hawaii to not make my favorite places list. -EP

Kyoto

Known as the “Cultural Capital of Japan” , Kyoto is easily one of the coolest and most beautiful places to visit in the world. With its classic Japanese architecture and cobblestone roads, Kyoto creates the image of what Japan once looked like in our modern era. On top of all of that, the delicious food and amazing sites to see, make Kyoto a fitting conclusion to my three favorite places to visit list. -EP

When I visited Hawaii, this waterfall standout because of how amazing it was. The water was refreshing and the view to get to the waterfall takes the cake. -YP

Yosemite National Park, California

Spring is the best time to visit Yosemite. My family and I camp here every year! Best views and amazing place to stargaze. -YP

Spain is a beatiful country with famous attractions such as the city, Barcelona that is best known for futbol and raising skilled futbol atheletes. When I visited Barcelona, I had an amazing time visiting the the stadium Camp Nou which holds the futbol team F.C. Barcelona. -Vanessa B

Venice, Italy is known for its venetian glass art and scultpuers. Within Venice is also home to masquerade carnivals with shops to decorate masks and outfits. My favorite part about visiting Venice was riding on one of the Gondolas through the city of Venice. -VB

Philadelphia is famous for its popular sites such as the liberty bell, Love Park, and even the pretzels. My favorite part about Philadelphia was the amount of greenery and the beautiful landscape that was offered. Visiting this place has been on my bucket list since I created it. A waterfall in mexico seems like it can give me comfort and peace which at times I feel like I desperately need. A break from the city and into the water would be nice. -Miguel M

The Griffith Observatory in LA is a favortie loaction to me because the view is breath taking. Ala Moana Beach Park, Hawaii

The Ala Moana Beach Park is located in Hawaii. I was born and rasied in Hawaii till the age of 12 years old. I have old family memories in this park. Where my parents, older brother and I took us to this beach park to eat our take out dinner we got on our way there and we would eat on the sand and we would watch the sunset and play some football. This old memory I hold deeply and it will always be one of my favorite places for this reason.This is the heart of Honolulu between bustling Waikiki and hip Kaka'ako. Rapperswil, Switzerland:

Rapperswil, Switzerland is my top destination to visit because I planned it with my friends. Switzerland to me is a cozy, winter wonderland that seems like fun to stay at. However, my friend was the one who suggested we go there, and so I really want to experience Rapperswil with her and my sister. I chose Rapperswil becuase of the beautiful Rose Gardens and the Glarus Alps. My second favorite place I want to visit is Strasbourg, France because I took French in high school and I had many assignments where I researched different cities in France. I personally believe that Paris is overrated. France has so much to offer and Strasbourg needs more love. Eiffel Tower

The Eiffel Tower is a famous tower in Paris, France, and it's known all over the world. It was built a long time ago, between 1887 and 1889, for a big event called the World's Fair. Some people didn't like how it looked at first, but now almost everyone thinks it's very special and beautiful. It's very tall, like a building with 81 floors, and you can see the whole city from the top. I really want to visit the Eiffel Tower because it's an important symbol of France and it looks amazing. It would be so cool to see the view of Paris from up there and learn more about how they built it

Spain is a beautiful country known for its rich history, vibrant culture, and stunning landscapes. It has many famous places that people from all over the world come to see. One thing that makes Spain special is its mix of old and new, from ancient castles and historic cities to modern art and lively festivals. The food in Spain, like paella and tapas, is delicious, and there's also exciting music and dance, such as flamenco, that you can enjoy. I really want to visit Spain to see its beautiful beaches, try the food, and experience its culture. It would be amazing to explore the different regions, each with its own unique traditions and sights, and to see famous landmarks like the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona or the Alhambra in Granada

Dubai is an incredible city in the United Arab Emirates known for its stunning modern architecture, luxury shopping, and vibrant nightlife. It's a place where the future seems to meet the present, with towering skyscrapers like the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, and innovative projects like the Palm Islands. Dubai also offers a unique blend of cultures and a desert landscape that invites adventure, from sandboarding to camel rides. I really want to visit Dubai to experience its awe-inspiring sights, such as the sparkling Dubai Fountain and the vast Dubai Mall. It would be fascinating to explore the traditional markets, or souks, and to enjoy the local cuisine

I like going to Tijuana with my family because it is close enough to drive to and spend the whole day or the weekend there but close enought to home. I have family that live there and visiting them is always fun. When we spend the full day there we go to the cemetery, beach, church, and of course eat lots of food. -ER

My family went to this beach spontaneously once and now when we road trip to the Bay area we stop by. Part of the beach is a dog beach. There is also a nice restaurant right on the beach that has really good clam chowder. Last time I went a random dog gave me a a ball so I could play catch with them. -ER

I really like fish. I first went to the aquarium on a field trip for school and I have gone a couple times since then becuase seeing fish is just really cool. Aquarium of the Pacific has cool night time events for 18+ and 21+ individuals to enjoy seeing the pretty fish and music at night. -ER

I went to Xi'an, a city full of ancient Chinese culture last summer. The ancient city walls remain inside. Many historical museums can be visited. There are many traditional and famous Chinese food from Xi'an. -GL

Shen Zhen is a very international city with many entertainment areas. There are many shopping centers. There is the highest Ferris wheel in China "Bay Glory". -George L

Rio De Janeiro, Brazil -LNC

My family on my fathers side all came from Rio de Janeiro, and I went for my first time in the summer 2017 to attend my godson's baptism. It was beautiful, I never visited anywhere that tropical. I endulged in all the finest foods it has to offer, and I visited all of the famous places like the Sugarloaf and Christ the Redeemer. I will definitly go back one day just for the sake of going back becuase of how beautiful it is

The Villa Del Balbianello located in Lake Como, Italy, is somewhere I am dying to visit. I first learned about this place watching Star Wars Episode II, after seeing how beautiful it looked I knew one day I would go there and take photos where the actors stood. And one day I hope to get married there like Padme and Anakin did

I've been to New York City a couple times and I really love it. It is where my dad lives currently so I plan to visit a lot more. Although I'm more of a nature guy, I found the lack of nature and the towering skyscrapers to be oddly appealing to me. I don't personally know if I would live there but I have thought applied to go to univeristy there.
